Date:

2007
Budget:   $1,200,000
SF:   7,200 sf
Owner:   Marion County Board of Commissioners

Project Description:

Salt Springs Fire Station 15, located within the Ocala National Forest, was originally built in 1985, and was a three-bay 2,800 square foot volunteer fire station that served the community for 10 years. As demand for emergency services grew for this rural, environmentally protected area, Martin County decided to staff the station with nine full-time paramedic/firefighters (three per 24-hour shift). But since the station was not designed to house full-time firefighters around the clock, County Commissioners saw a need to build a new, larger facility. Like the prototype design sri provided for the Meadowood Farms Fire Station, Fire Station 15 has a double-lane, drive thru apparatus bay, and efficiently spaced kitchen/dining, dormitory, training/conference room, day room, fitness, and office spaces.
